MEET CHARLIE! He is a SUPER SWEET boy with WELL CONTROLLED DIABETES in Southern California, and he needs a home or foster ASAP! Charlie is a perfect companion with a delightful personality! Charlie is wonderfully social; he happily greets visitors to your house. He understands people. He loves to weave himself in and out of your legs, hoping you will pet him - Charlie LOVES when you pet him! His favorite is when you rub his head. He lets you pick him up and carry him around. If you exercise or are busy doing something, Charlie likes to be there with you and observe, but knows to wait patiently until you finish, and then he comes right over for love. When you watch TV, Charlie jumps up where you are sitting, lays down and snuggles himself up cozy with you. He snuggles with you when you sleep too. He will stay cuddled with you all night long. He loves to stay with you! Charlie plays too. He loves to play with string toys. He has fun chasing objects you wiggle for him at the end of a string. Charlie comes when you call, and he comes when you whistle. Charlie is talkative -- he has different voices! . When he sees something exciting, he sounds like a bird, and when he asks for something, he makes a cute squeak. Charlie is quick to purr! Simply set him down next to you and Charlie purrs. Quite loudly! A musician who knows Charlie says he purrs in the key of “C.” Charlie adapts well to new social situations. If a new cat or a new person visits or joins the household, he adjusts easily and makes friends with the new person or cat. Charlie's lost his home when his elderly human parents became unable to care for him. They scheduled Charlie for euthanasia. The veterinarian called us because she did not want to euthanize such a very sweet, special cat. We were able to find him an emergency place to go, where he gets his 2 daily shots, but not on the schedule Charlie needs. So Charlie REALLY NEEDS A FOSTER OR PERMANENT HOME, ASAP, with someone who can give him his twice-daily insulin. Charlie's diabetes is well controlled, and he has no other health issues. Giving insulin is EASY with Charlie! He does not mind at all – give him his shot while he is eating, and he does not even notice or flinch, he keeps right on eating like nothing happened! He takes one shot with breakfast and one with dinner. Perhaps you are a nurse who is not afraid of injections, or maybe you are a diabetic like Charlie, or maybe you just want to help a VERY LOVING AND GENTLE special needs cat who is a sweetheart and finds himself in big trouble through no fault of his own! Charlie is 11. He is neutered, and has excellent litter box manners. He gets along well with other cats (dogs scare him). In his photo he had just lost his home of 11 years, so he was understandably not his usual happy, contented self. The photo is dark, but you can see how cuddly-cute Charlie is! Charlie is located in the greater Los Angeles area. Please share! This is a courtesy listing. If you would like more information, or to foster or adopt Charlie, please email catnose1@aol.com.
