Domestic Short Hair / American Shorthair / Mixed (short coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Young Contact Harriette's Caretaker/Foster Directly: Georgetta (aubrick@hotmail.com) Sweet special girl kitten
Harriette and her siblings and cousins were rescued from a hoarding situation where they didn't get enough to eat and very poor care at about 5 weeks of age. Harriette was born around June 6, 2018 and has grown into a very happy and healthy young cat. She has very unusual symmetrical markings on both hips that make her look like she is wearing shorts or a bikini. When she was spayed it was discovered that she only had one uterine horn rather than the normal 2 in cats and the kidney on the side missing the uterine horn had not developed properly. You would never know it though since she plays very vigorously with the other kittens! Cats Cradle rescue paid $$$ for an ultrasound and the vet who read the ultrasound pronounced her quite healthy. She will need to be fed high quality cat food (preferably low or no carb cat food) to protect her single kidney, but she has the same chance to live a long healthy life as the other rescued kittens. She is very much the professional huntress of feather toys, capturing each one and growling to warn away the other kittens who might want to play with her "prey"! Her favorites are the feather toys on the fishing poles that fly through the air. She will even perform aerial gymnastics when the "bird" flies over her head! When Harriette is tired out from play, she LOVES to park on your lap or up high on your chest just under your chin for pets and a nap. She purrs loudly when picked up and cuddled. The last picture is Harriette on the left and Hermione on the right. She also can be quite talkative. We also show cats and kittens for adoption 11-3:30 most Saturdays at the Petco in Camarillo (Las Posas off ramp in the BevMo, Target Shopping center). Adoptable cats and kittens will be shown at our Adoption Center at Cats Cradle in Ventura (1954 E. Main Street, corner of Main and Santa Cruz) on most weekends from noon to 4:30. Adoption application is required and can be completed online at www.CatsCradleRescue.org or at either of our adoption venues.
