This kitten was rescued the last week of November 2012 in Oxnard. He was very emaciated and unable to walk or even stand up. A local gentleman found him in the street and brought him to the Port Hueneme PETCO to try to get him help. The PETCO store called in a Cats Cradle Rescue volunteer to assist in his care.
He needed some emergency care, fluids, and quite a bit of handfeeding until he was strong enough to eat on his own. We estimated that he was born around 11/21/12. A vet check later disclosed that he had a skull fracture and had possibly been hit by a car or another hard object before he was rescued. The injury is healing, but he may always have an extra bump on his skull. It doesn't slow him down at all. He is a very high energy kitten and plays constantly when he is awake.
He loves to play tag and hide and seek and wrestle with the other cats and kittens at his foster home. He does have a tendency to bite when he plays so we would prefer that he be adopted to a home with another cat (prefer a calm male) or a cat-friendly dog so that he can improve his social skills and learn proper cat manners.
You can meet him at the Ventura PETCO from 11 a.m to 4 p.m. most Saturdays. . Please call Georgetta at 805 647-7173 for more information.
